🌎 Engineering Without Borders

One of the most rewarding parts of Mechanical Miniatures is the opportunity to work with companies from around the world, helping transform complex engineering solutions into detailed, engaging display models.

Earlier this year, we were approached by MEDATech Engineering in Ontario, Canada, after they had seen our previous work for Massenza Rigs. Their goal was simple: create a pair of highly detailed display models that could showcase their equipment at industry exhibitions and conventions.

The result was the development of two custom 1:20 scale models:

Designed, engineered, assembled, and shipped from Perth, Western Australia to Toronto, Canada.

🔧 Capturing the Details That Matter

From the outset, the objective wasn't simply to build scale models.

The goal was to capture the key functions, proportions, and visual identity of the real machines while creating something that would immediately attract attention at a trade show booth.

Working closely with the MEDATech team, we used engineering drawings, photographs, Dimensions, and product information to accurately recreate each machine in LEGO® form.

The models were produced at approximately 1:20 scale and included a range of functional features.

Every effort was made to capture not only the appearance of the machines, but the engineering principles behind them. The result was a pair of models that encouraged people to stop, look closer, and ask questions.

🎪 Built for Trade Shows and Conversation

One of the key reasons companies commission display models is their ability to create engagement.

At a busy convention, technical equipment can often blend into the background. A detailed scale model immediately draws attention and provides an easy way to start conversations with potential customers.

Following delivery to Canada, the models were displayed at MEDATech's industry exhibits where they generated significant interest from attendees.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with the MEDATech team reporting that visitors regularly stopped to inspect the models and ask questions about both the equipment and the build itself. The models became exactly what they were intended to be, a visual centrepiece and conversation starter.

Projects like this are only possible through strong collaboration.

MEDATech provided detailed reference material, photographs, engineering information, and ongoing feedback throughout the design process, allowing us to accurately represent their products while incorporating as much functionality as possible.

Seeing the finished models displayed on the other side of the world was incredibly rewarding and a reminder that great engineering can be appreciated at any scale.
